Washington city and Washington County lead to different jails

First decide which Indiana booking you mean. Daviess County’s Security Center is in the city of Washington, at 101 NE 4th Street, Washington, IN 47501. Washington County’s Sheriff operates a separate detention-center roster and is based in Salem. A result from one county is not a substitute for the other, even when a name and apparent age look similar. Use the arrest paperwork, arresting agency or booking location to choose the branch.

Keep the photo question separate from the court question. The jail holds booking information for an admission; a court file supplies the proceedings and disposition. An arrest or booking photograph does not establish a conviction. If the original event location is uncertain, resolve it with the holding agency before attributing any image to the person.

For Washington city, contact Daviess County’s detention staff

Use Daviess County’s official Jail Command page and Sheriff directory. The directory lists the Detention Center at 812-254-5974 and the Sheriff’s Office at 812-254-1060. Ask about the booking record and whether a photograph for that particular admission is releasable. Provide the full name, approximate arrest or booking date, and a booking or incident number if available. Confirm that the event was a Daviess admission rather than assuming every Washington-city arrest produced a record there.

The verified Jail Command material provides facility information and links for bond, release dates and court times; it does not establish a public Daviess mugshot gallery. If there is no image online, request the existing photograph from the custodian and ask about its format, any redaction, copying cost and delivery. No photo-specific fee or guaranteed turnaround was established from these pages. A missing web image is not proof that no booking occurred.

For Washington County, choose current custody or a recent release

The Sheriff’s roster chooser separates Current Inmates from 48 Hour Release. Use the first for currently listed detention-center inmates; use the second for people released within the preceding 48 hours. It is a recent-release window, not a complete historical archive. The current roster provides name/date ordering, booking numbers, booking dates, charge labels and profile links with mugshot images. Open the matching profile and retain the booking number and date with the image.

If the admission falls outside the release window or a profile is absent, contact the Sheriff at 812-883-5999 or [email protected]. The office is at 801 S Jackson St., Salem, IN 47167; administrative hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Ask for a dated booking record or photograph rather than a general search for every person with the surname.

Make a precise photo request and check the quoted service

  • Specify the county, full name, booking date and booking number. Say whether you want the photograph itself, the booking sheet, or both, and whether an electronic copy is acceptable.
  • Washington County’s fee page lists photo discs at $25 and accident/incident report copies at $12. These are separate products; the page does not say that every online mugshot download costs $25. Confirm that the disc service fits the photograph you need and get the total before ordering.
  • Ask the custodian about an older record, a missing image, release restrictions, and available delivery. Keep its reply and the date of the request so an unanswered inquiry is not mistaken for an official no-record response.

Check identity and follow the case to its outcome

Washington County warns that its web information is not certified for accuracy or authenticity. Compare the booking identifiers and event dates; do not replace a missing Daviess photograph with a Washington County namesake. A saved screenshot shows what the roster displayed when you saved it, not necessarily today’s custody status. Ask the jail to verify current information and report a mismatched name, date or image to that agency with the specific profile reference.

For the court outcome, Indiana’s Judicial Branch links to MyCase, where some public filings are available without charge. Use the correct case and county to find the relevant order. If the document is not online, contact the clerk in the county where the case is heard and specify the requested filing and certification. Jail staff and a roster image cannot supply a court-certified disposition.
